  • Who does Pursuit Restoration suggest I contact first about my property damage?

If all immediate safety risks have been taken handled, you should contact an independent Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) company. This is because not all insurance providers have your best interests at heart. The insurance company’s employees are conditioned to minimize the carrier’s costs. They are usually compensated through commissions for reducing your estimates. We are an independent contractor with no vendor affiliations with any insurance companies.

  • Do I have to call my insurance immediately about a property damage claim?

In the opinion of Pursuit Restoration, while it’s helpful to call your insurance company, you don’t have to do it immediately. Our IICRC-licensed inspectors are highly experienced when it comes to getting approval for water and fire damage claims. Calling your insurance carrier may lead to delays or interruptions if their questions are answered incorrectly. We can identify if the extent of the problem is large enough to require a claim. If you notify them and then don’t file a claim, they’ll still maintain a record of the call which could mean a rate increase.

  • How does Pursuit Restoration’s water damage restoration process work?

First, all standing water is removed from flooring, wet carpet, and other materials. Next, dehumidifiers, air movers, and other specialized equipment are used to dry the area. This usually takes 2 to 5 days, depending on but not limited to the saturation time, the type of materials, and the atmospheric conditions. We also use moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras to determine when your home is thoroughly dry.

  • How long should the water cleanup by Pursuit Restoration take?

Our full restoration services consist of 2 major phases – mitigation and repairs. Mitigation includes demolition, cleaning, and drying. This typically takes 2 to 5 days. Repairs can take a couple of days up to 4 weeks. This depends on the degree of damage and lead time for materials. Materials like cabinets, custom wood, and high-end flooring can more time to ship. We’ll work with your insurance provider to restore your property as soon as possible.

  • How much does Pursuit Restoration charge to fix water damage?

This depends on the size of the flooded area and the amount of time needed for repairs. If your insurance covers water damage, you are only responsible for the deductible. The average cost for water damage is just over $7,000. When properly dried promptly, you can prevent secondary damages or costly issues like mold.
